BCCI Speculates to host IPL 2020 outside India!

In a recent report, the BCCI has shown keen interest in holding the IPL 2020. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is now considering all possible options to make possible the event. It is even considering to host the IPL outside the country if that is the last option. 

Indian Premier League, 2020 was supposed to be held in March this year but due to the corona pandemic, it had to be canceled. While speaking with a source from BCCI, he said, “The board is looking at all options. If it comes to taking IPL out of India, it may happen but as the last option.” “If that’s the only option then we will consider it. We have done it in the past also and we can do it again but the first preference will be to host it in India,”  he added.

Clash between T20 World Cup and IPL

In the year 2009, IPL was hosted in South Africa and in 2014 India and UAE jointly hosted the event. 

Recently, ICC has deferred its decision on “all agenda items” till 10th June. They are waiting for getting the clarity for the T20 World Cup which is to be hosted in Australia in October. “We will await for clarity over T20 World Cup from ICC before discussing anything further. But I can tell that as of now no decision has been taken,” the source said.

IPL not only contributes billions of Rupees to the Indian economy but is considered to be one of the best platforms for the cricketers to perform. Numerous cricketers from all over the world show their interest in the format and fans have a massive craze for the game. 

With the ongoing corona outbreak, there have been numerous speculations on IPL 2020 previously. In this scenario, we can only hope that the match is held as soon as possible, keeping in mind the health factors.
