India’s Test specialist, Cheteshwar Pujara is all set to return in IPLwith Chennai Super Kings.

Pujara will return into the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with the Chennai Super Kings as the MS Dhoni-led franchise bought him for his base price of INR 50 lakh in the mini-auction in February. He last played in the coveted league way back in 2014.

However, Cheteshwar Pujara wanted to revive his T20 career for quite some time now and he was disappointed that Gujarat Lions didn’t pick him for the 2016 and 2017 edition of the league as well. His comments came as Gujarat Lions was based out of Rajkot which is also his hometown but that didn’t help him as well. But the franchise bought his long time Saurashtra team-mate Ravindra Jadeja as well.

“Well, I was disappointed that I was not picked. But that was not in my control. It would have been nice if I was part of that side. That is in the past and I have moved on,” said Cheteshwar Pujara.

Notably, Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiant were introduced to the IPL in 2016 after the BCCI had suspended the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings for two seasons. On the other hand, Pujara never got a chance to play an IPL match at Rajkot as he remained unsold in both the 2016 and 2017 auctions as well.

Meanwhile, India’s Test specialist has so far played 30 matches (22 innings) in the cash-rich league where he has 390 runs in his name which also included only one fifty.
