On their last encounter with KXIP, CSK had its new opening batsmen pair. Dhoni picked du Plessis in place of injured Dwayne Bravo, and he scores 54 runs on 38 balls. Watson had a balanced batting to add 26 runs to the board on 24 balls. Dhoni was again in superb touch and smashed 37 runs on 23 balls. Rayudu was demoted to 3rd down batsmen, and he was good on that position by adding 21 runs on 15 balls.
