Former cricketing legend and Pakistan batting coach Younis Khan named Jofra Archer as a major threat for his team against England in upcoming England vs Pakistan Test series. The Pakistan team left for England on Sunday. They will be playing three Test matches and as many T20i’s. The series will commence in the first week of August.
Younis also added that the 25-year-old England cricketer has made quite a reputation of himself since he qualified to play for the England team. The young cricketer also proved himself in the yesteryear’s Ashes and World Cup campaign, helping the team win remarkably.
“He (Archer) is a real match-winner and a threat,” Younis told just before the team’s departure.
“Archer has strong nerves which he proved while bowling a crucial super over in the World Cup final,” said Younis of England’s nail-biting win over New Zealand at Lord’s last year.
“He has bite in his bowling and his high arm action is very good and gives him nip in his bowling,” he added.
Younis Khan talks about the threats to Pakistan
Younis has himself played a vital role in Pakistan’s draw in England 2-2 Test series at The Oval in 2016. He had scored a double hundred in the last Test and thus said that the Barbados cricketer can also be encountered.
“There is a hype around him so that can be an added pressure on him. I have told the batsmen to play close to the body and play on the back foot because his in-swinger can be very dangerous,” he added.
The Pakistan coach remembered the bowler playing in Pakistan’s practice game in 2016 against Sussex.
“I remember playing him in the side game,” said Younis of Archer’s debut first-class match. “He got five wickets in the match but was not on top of his bowling at the time like he is now.”
Along with Jofra Archer, Younis also said that the Pakistan team must be cautious of the experienced bowlers of England, James Anderson and Stuart Broad.
“Anderson and Broad have a wealth of experience. They are always a great pair. Whenever England have won they have the major share, but in August the weather will be dry and not very overcast so they can be handled properly.”

Pakistan Team is all set
To have a clear idea of victory, the coach said that the Pakistan team must score around 300-350 in the first innings. The coach sounded confident of his team and was heard praising it.
“You face challenges in England as your technique as well as nerves are put to test. I am sure our team will be up to that task,” said Younis.
The Pakistan team has a new pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi who is considered to be the spearhead of the bowling squad and is also accompanied by Naseem Shah and Mohammad Abbas who played a vital role in the 2018 tour. Younis is Pakistan’s highest Test run-scorer with a 10, 099 score to his name.
The Pakistan team left for England on Sunday without the 10 players who had found positive for their tests of the coronavirus. England vs Pakistan Test series is all set to start after the team has served two weeks of quarantine.
