Rajasthan Royal is looking for a comeback in IPL. On the 36th match, RR is going to host Mumbai Indians at Sawai Man Singh Stadium. At present MI is at 2nd position on the point table from the top and RR is at the 2nd position from the bottom. RR needs to win anyhow to stay in the race for the playoffs. Can RR topple MI tomorrow? Let’s find out.
RR vs MI Head to Head
The two franchises have matched 22 times in IPL. MI has a slight edge of 11-10 over RR. They have played seven matches in Jaipur till now. But here RR has won 5 times, and MI could manage to win only two times. Still, the onus is on MI as they are in the red hot form and RR are very unstable.
RR so far
In this season Rajasthan Royals have played eight matches till now, and they could win only two matches. But they have beaten MI in one match at Wankhede. RR is hoping to repeat the same performance at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, but MI has won their last two matches, and they are in high confidence. It will be a difficult task for RR to beat MI if their performance doesn’t improve.
Jos Buttler is their key batsman who is in superb form. He is very destructive and smashing the opponent bowlers. The skipper Rahane might have missed a place in the India World Cup team, but he is giving good support to Buttler for making runs. Rahul Tripathy has performed very well against Punjab after getting a promotion to the opening spot.
Sanju Samson is their leading middle-order batsman, and he is on average touch now. He has to perform well to improve RR’s performance.
RR has a good bowling attack. But except Jofra Archer no other bowlers are performing as per their ability. That’s why they are unable to restrict the opponents in a low target. Jaydev Unadkad is getting costlier for them. Stuart Binny is in good touch with ball and bat.
Shreyas Gopal and Dhawal Kulkarni are their main bowlers, and they are performing well.
But as a team, RR is not a stable performer. They are always about to reach the boundary line, but unable to cross that line.
MI so far
Mumbai Indians are one of the dominating sides in this season. They are a very balanced side and playing as a team. As a result, they are second on the point table now, even after having a slow start.
MI has a very good batting depth. Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma are in good form, and they are hitting hard to opponents’ bowlers. Suryakumar Yadav is a little bit slower, but he always builds the innings for MI. Ishan Kisan needs to show his talent.
In the lower middle order, they have destructive Pandya brothers and Kieron Pollard. They can boost the team score to a good target.
In bowling attack, Bumrah and Malinga are their key bowlers. Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya are doing great in spin attack. Hardik Pandya is giving good support to Bumrah and Malinga in the seam bowling attack.
