After beating table topper Chennai Super Kings at the home ground, Sunrisers Hyderabad is going to host another home match against Kolkata Knight Riders. On the other hand, KKR has suffered four consecutive losses. Another loss may maintain a point gap between the top 5 teams and KKR. Both teams are desperate to win the match to stay in the race for playoffs. Let’s see who will get a chance to climb the point table.
SRH vs KKR Head to Head
The franchises have played 16 matches in IPL so far. KKR has the advantages on the head to head stats by winning ten matches till now. SRH has won only six matches against KKR. On their last encounter at Eden Garden KKR has won the match by six wickets. Let’s see if KKR can overcome the consecutive losses and repeat the Kolkata’s performance against SRH or not.
SRH so far
SRH is not a well-balanced team in this season. It is because of the lack of performances of their middle order batsmen. The team is fully dependent on their opening pair batsmen. David Warner is currently the orange cap holder with the total runs of 450 in 8 matches. Jonny Bairstow is also in very good touch by hitting 365 runs in 8 matches.
Addition of Kane Williamson in the playing 11 has not changed anything with the middle order batting line up. Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan, and Vijay Shankar are constantly not performing well. They have to perform well, to strengthen the batting line up. Especially Vijay Shankar has to give his best performance to show his perfect value in India World Cup Team.
SRH has a very good bowling line up. The last match, SRH has won against CSK due to their quality bowling attack. The pace attack of the team depends on Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Kumar is very economical for bowling. The recent addition of Khaleel Ahmed has given more depth to the bowling attack as he took a wicket by giving 22 runs against CSK.
Rashid Khan is their trump card. He is very economical throughout this season, and he took two wickets against CSK by giving only 17 runs.
If SRH is serious about winning the match against strong KKR, they have to repair their batting line up anyhow.
KKR so far
KKR is a team of only one man Andre Russell. They fully depend on Russell to win the matches. Although KKR has lost their last match against RCB, Russell’s power knock of 65 runs off 25 balls has touched the hearts. They have to perform as a team to win the matches.
Nitish Rana was in superb touch in the last match against RCB. He has scored 85 runs off just 46 balls. The rest top order batsmen Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, and Robin Uthappa has to perform for the team.
KKR is featured with spin bowling attack mainly. They have world class spinners Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav, and Piyush Chawla. The spinners are doing their part very well. But the seam bowlers Prasidh Krishna, and Harry Gurney have to give their 100% percent.
