10. 1983 World Cup Final

The first match in our list is the final match of World Cup, 1983 where India and West Indies battled against each other for the cup. Kapil’s army lost the toss and was asked to bat first. It was India’s first match in the finals.

Sachin Tendulkar beat Shane Warne, who was considered to be the best bowler then, like a kid, in the Sharjah Cup popularly known for the Desert Storm innings. The match is considered to be one of the bests of Sachin’s. He was the Man of the series. India won the tournament.

8. 2001 India versus Australia Test Match

In 2001, Indian fans saw the greatest victory of test match ever in Indian history being played in the Eden Gardens. Dravid and Laxman’s partnership of 376 runs created a whopping history and helped Ganguly’s team to win the match.

7. 2002 Natwest Trophy

In the 2002 Natwest series, India crafted a victory out of the blues by the magnificent chasing of 326 runs by the England team. The historical partnership between Yuvraj and Kaif of 121 runs set an example of how a match can be won if played hard till the very last ball.

This match is one of the most recommended cricket matches lists. Sourav Ganguly, then captain of India, took off his jersey to celebrate their victory. 

6. 2003 ICC World Cup India versus Pakistan

The Super 8 stage match of the 2007 T20 World Cup between India and England will always be memorable for cricket fans. England was defeated by India by 18 runs after Yuvraj Singh came to the field. He scored six 6’s in one over against Stuart Broad. It was an extraordinary over and gives goosebumps even today.

4. 2008 Perth Test Match India versus Australia

This test match will always be remembered for the impeccable performance that team India showed in Perth’s pitch. India became the first South Asian team to defeat Australia in Perth.

3. 2013 Champion’s Trophy Final

The 2013 Champion’s Trophy was played between India and England. The match though was speculated to be a close one. But with time it turned out to be a seizing one for India while England choked on it and lost the match

In 2018, India toured Australia and won the test series under the mighty captainship of Virat Kohli. This was the first Test series that India won against Australia in Australia.
