4 mins read :

Today the bottom two teams Rajasthan Royals and Royal challengers Bangalore will lockdown head to head to taste their maiden victory of VIVO IPL 2019 edition. Rajasthan is going to host the match at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Both teams are running winless in their last three matches of this edition. If we look at the head to head stats, both teams have played 18 matches between them, and RR has the slight edge of 9-8 over RCB.

In the current edition, RR is having nervous ending at crucial moments and is getting chocked to lose, whereas RCB is having one of their worst starts ever in the IPL history. At the current time RR is at 7th position on point table, whereas RCB is on at the foot of the point table. Now let’s look at their net run rate. RR has NRR of -0.575 and RCB is having a heart attack run rate of -2.413.

While heading against RCB, RR is hoping to open the tally on the point table. So far, RR is looking like a promising side, but they are failing to tight the knot at crucial moments. As a result, they are pointless now. On their last encounter with Chennai Super King, they lost at last over by 8 runs in a nail-biting match. On their first two encounters RR was performing well, but couldn’t perform at par.

Jaydev Unadkad is getting costlier for RR as his performances were very miserable. RR has the match winners like Steve Smith and Ben Stokes. But they couldn’t give any boost so far to the team. Ben Stokes was in right touch against CSK. But he failed to cross the milestone for RR in the crucial moment.

On their first encounter with Punjab, the bowlers were miserable in death overs to let opposition score high. In return, the middle order batsmen couldn’t take the way we build score by Rahane and Jos Buttler.

On the second encounter against SRH, Sanju Samson had the first century of IPL 2019, and Rahane gave good support to have a huge total. But the bowlers of RR were reckless to let win SRH.

So, in RR Smith, Stokes, and Unadkad are the big guns, who are yet to fire.

Probable XI: Ajinkya Rahane (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Sanju Samson, Steven Smith/Ashton Turner, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat, Shreyas Gopal

“If we win the smaller moments in T20s we will do well. We have played well in the last three games, and hopefully, with some luck, we’ll be able to turn it around.”

RCB is having two embarrassing lost in this season. RCB had a humiliating season opener against CSK, where it could set 70 runs only on the board having star batsmen like Virat, de Villiers, Hetmhyer, and Moeen Ali. On later match, they seemed to have a comeback against Mumbai Indians but still lost the match on a controversial last ball.

On their last match against SRH, Warner and Bairstow hammered the RCB bowlers and set 231 runs on the board, on which no star batsman of RCB could perform and faced another humiliation.

The visitors have one of the strongest batting line up to beat RR on their home soil. Their star batsmen are yet to ignite. Till now they are facing miserable batting failure. On bowling attack, RCB is having very serious issues. They are the costliest in the death overs bowling attack in IPL. Chahal is their only attack who can be a trump card for RCB.

Probable XI: Parthiv Patel (wk), Moeen Ali, Virat Kohli (c), AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer, Shivam Dube, Colin de Grandhomme/Tim Southee/Nathan Coulter-Nile, Prayas Barman, Yuzvendra Chahal, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj/Washington Sundar

“The pitch will be nice in Jaipur against the Royals. We need to bring our A-game like we did against Mumbai and play with that kind of intensity. If we go through the motions, we need to do the regular basic stuff, and get results our way and start winning games in the tournament – the next game should be that game for us.”
