Three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) title winner Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise has recently shared a beautiful throwback video of IPL 2021.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has postponed the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after several players and support staff have been tested positive for the global pandemic novel COVID-19 virus despite being in the bio-secure bubble.
Meanwhile, the announcement came after Sunrisers Hyderabad’s wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals’ experienced spinner Amit Mishra has been tested positive. It started with two players from the Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) camp – Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrior who had been tested positive and then, Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) bowling coach L Balaji has been tested positive also.
However, on Tuesday, CSK took to Twitter and shared a memorable throwback video from the 2021 edition of the cash-rich league with their fans. “A re-ride of the #Summerof2021! Thirumbi Varuvom,” CSK shared the video with the caption and also promised to be back “to finish what they had started” too.
Here is the video CSK shared about IPL 2021:
However, Chennai Super Kings’ post went viral as fans also commented as well. “Thanks For the memories this season, thala @msdhoni,” wrote a CSK fan.
“Refreshed my memories,” another fan also commented where another fan shared, “#SummerOf2021 will end with #WinterOf2021 seeing #CSK as 4 times @IPL champions.” Meanwhile, two other fans have also added “finish what they had started”, and wrote, “We are waiting for it,” and “Thanks for the hope guys.”
As far as CSK’s performance in the 2021 edition of the IPL is concerned, they finished at second place in the IPL points table with 10 points in their name. After a rather forgettable season in IPL 2020, where CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs for the very first time since the inaugural season of the cash-rich league, the MS Dhoni-led team did quite well this season.
However, CSK had played seven matches in IPL 2021 and won five games as well. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings have lost only two matches against the defending champion Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in this season as well.
